FOX execs have been quoted as saying that the first season was “creatively unfocused” and has been said to have approached several new writers as second season prospects. I for one disagree, what I saw the writers doing was setting up complex believable characters, and the beginnings of multiple story arcs. Spielberg is known for in depth character backgrounds so it is no surprise to me that he would back a show that followed a similar philosophy.
What ever happens I am just hoping to not be left hanging once again by a network that has a tendency of not being able to recognize good, cerebral, sci-fi shows in favor of programs that promote the loss of IQ points such as ‘The Simpsons’, ‘Family Guy’, ‘King of the Hill’ and ‘American Dad’. Stop keeping trash on the air and give quality a chance to prevail.
