Comically Political With George Carlin (Quotes Project: Week 8)

“People are fucking nuts. This country is full of nitwits and assholes. You ever notice that? Nitwits, assholes, fuckups, scumbags, jerkoffs, and dipshits. And they all vote. In fact, sometimes you get the impression that they’re the only ones who vote.”

– George Carlin

Oimagever the last few months, even before the Trump officially took office, I have had the image of Jean-Luc Picard in my head requesting a damage report.

It has felt like a waking nightmare as we watch the work of the last 8 year tore asunder. Some would say that I am exaggerating but this is my blog and I can say what I want (the great Cheeto has not yet repealed the 1st amendment).

“In America, anyone can become president. That’s the problem.”

– George Carlin

I don’t want to spend a lot of time her debating the less than finer points, or lack-thereof, of the current administration but want to share a few quotes from one of my favorite outspoken and politically incorrect comedians, George Carlin.

image“Boy, these conservatives are really something, aren’t they? They’re all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn. But once you’re born, you’re on your own. Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months. After that, they don’t want to know about you. They don’t want to hear from you. No nothing. No neonatal care, no day care, no head start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you’re preborn, you’re fine; if you’re preschool, you’re fucked.”

– George Carlin

He died years before the idea of Trump being the president had truly hit the mainstream, I can only fantasize about what he would be saying today. That being said; almost two years ago his daughter gave an interview with Larry King and I will leave you with her words.

“Dad used to say to us, ‘When you’re born, you get a ticket to the freak show. When you’re born in America, you get a front row seat… Guess what people, the freak show is alive and well in America today. He would be having fun with it.”

– Kelly Carlin

Peace Out.
